The BLN Exceptional Leadership Award was presented to Michael Whitehill, Vice President of McCrone, Inc. (LS/BLN), a full-service engineering firm headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland. The award was presented by Kathleen Havey of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.


Michael Whitehill

  • is an active member of the National BLN Steering Group;
  • has served as state BLN lead employer since 1998;
  • has provided guidance in establishing BLN chapters in 5 counties;
  • travels nationwide to speak with business leaders engaged in or starting BLNs (states visited include TX, CO, WY, WA, and IA); and
  • is particularly savvy on rehabilitation issues and has influenced state and local legislation to remove continuing barriers to employment.
